1.
What is the PROPRIO 5000?
The PROPRIO 5000 provides an
innovative approach to real life proprioceptive training.
The PROPRIO 5000 features a multi-directional,
dynamic platform and motion analysis system that evaluates and trains
real performance. The PROPRIO
5000 is a necessary addition to rehabilitation and sports enhancement
centers.
2.
Why are balance and proprioception important?
Balance is a fundamental component in the precise performance of
the human body. Proprioception is the sense of body joint position.
Joint motion and acceleration is important in exercise, rehabilitation
and injury prevention.
3. What is the theory
behind PROPRIO
training?
PROPRIO
training improves balance/proprioception and therefore improves
rehabilitation and enhancement of lower extremities and core stabilization.
4.
What is the difference between the PROPRIO and free motion
balance trainers?
PROPRIO
5000 provides
reactive training through Dynamic Range of Motion (D-ROM) technology.
The user reacts to the platform movement, which better emulates
real life situations and provides a safe controlled excersize.
5.
Who can benefit from PROPRIO training?
Because the PROPRIO
5000 is fully controlled by the operator, the settings, speeds,
and stances can be customized for any individual. This allows PROPRIO
training to be a useful tool for helping improve an athlete's balance
and proprioception, as well as a beneficial, controlled excersize
to supplement rehabilitation programs.
6.
What are the safety features of the PROPRIO
5000?
PROPRIO 5000 is designed with
safety bars in close proximity, easy to reach. If missed, a safety
harness will protect the user from falling. Perry Dynamics recommends
that all users utilize the safety harness.
7.
Is the
PROPRIO 5000
for cardiovascular?
Primarily no, but if one chooses to complete his or her protocol
for an extended period of time, there may be cardiovascular benefits.
8.
How does the PROPRIO
5000 measure the user's movement?
PROPRIO 5000 features an Ultrasonic
Measuring System which consists of a triangular shape transmitter
that is belted on the user's waist and a larger triangular shaped
receiver located on the back of the machine encased in the padding.
The transmitter emits ultrasonic waves to the receiver. As the user's
body position changes, the ultrasonic waves convey these changes
instantaneously. The relative position of the transmitter is recorded
in a 3 dimensional space (X, Y, and Z coordinates). This information
is recorded every 1/4 of a second. For the ultrasonic measuring
system to operate properly, there must be a direct line of sight
between the transmitter and the receiver.
9. How much
does the PROPRIO
5000 platform tilt?
The PROPRIO 5000 tilts 18 degrees
in the predictable modes (clock-wise and counter-clock-wise), and
25 degrees in the random, lateral R/L and anterior/posterior modes.
10.
Where can I see a demonstration of the PROPRIO
5000?
To
demonstrate the possible types of motions and stances available,
we have created an ONLINE DEMO with
animation and video to enable our visitors to see the PROPRIO
5000
in action. Click here for the demo.
Perry Dynamics now has a mobile demonstration trailer that houses a fully functioning
PROPRIO 5000. This means that we can pull up to your building and let you see
firsthand how the machine can help your rehab patients and challenge your healthy athletes.
Call to see when the mobile demonstration trailer will be in your area.
11.
How is the
PROPRIO
5000 assembled? Who assembles it?
The PROPRIO 5000 is easily assembled
with a step by step instruction manual. Perry Dynamics can also
provide certified personnel to install the PROPRIO
5000.
12. How do
I learn to operate the PROPRIO
5000?
Your local PROPRIO sales representative
will provide on-site training to your employees. Local PROPRIO
representatives are fully trained by Perry Dynamics personnel in
the operation of the PROPRIO
5000.
Perry Dynamics also provides a customer support line at 217-872-1530.
13.
How long will it take to get it delivered?
Delivery time from placement of order is approximately 8-12 weeks.
14.
Is the
PROPRIO
5000 patented?
Patents are patent pending - both foreign and domestic (U.S.).
The
PROPRIO 5000 is not a medical device. It is not designed
for and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment of injuries.
The PROPRIO 5000 is a useful tool for exercises that
imitate real life experiences. PROPRIO tests and reports
are intended to help the technician determine subsequent training
sessions, methods and stances customized for the individual. Improvement
of an individuals proprioception and balance may contribute
to enhanced performance.*
